Professor Toro: Farr stirs up Capitol Hill

As quoted by CNN, Farr apparently said at a House hearing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers should spend more time deporting illegal immigrants from jails and less time rooting them from work sites, a comment that adequately expresses the needs of his local economic constituency. He told ICE Director Julie Myers that work-site raids result in arrests of people who are basically "at the wrong place at the wrong time. LOS ANGELES (AP) - August 12, 2006 - Actor Lou Diamond Phillips was released from jail on his own recognizance Friday following his arrest for allegedly physically abusing his live-in girlfriend. "Our office reviewed the case today and referred it to the city attorney's hearing program. The parties will come in and sit with one of our attorneys, who will try to mediate the situation," said Jonathan Diamond, a city attorney's spokesman.
