The NFL announced today that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will be fined $50,000 for the Jenn Sterger episode. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the announcement on his Twitter account, writing that the NFL found “no violation of league policy,” during its investigation into accusations that Favre sent lewd photographs to Sterger in 2008. Aiello added that Favre’s fine stemmed from a “lack of cooperation” into the investigation. (Snip) Favre, 41, acknowledged earlier this year that he left Sterger voicemails while trying to woo the stunning ex-model in 2008.

What did McNabb mean?

A figure of speech, some say of the quarterback’s “black-on-black crime” remark. Others say it fans flames. Hear what fans have to say. During the lead-up to the world's biggest sporting extravaganza, the Super Bowl, Donovan McNabb fires off a salvo for the world to hear: Terrell Owens' criticism of his quarterbacking skills last season was "black-on-black crime." Black-on-black crime? A careless choice of words, given the daily tragedies in Philadelphia and other cities, or intentionally loaded? Or just a figure of speech? From the streets of Philadelphia, inside barbershops, and all day over the radio airwaves yesterday, people weighed...

Monday Morning Quarterback (AFC predictions)

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- This is my AFC prediction column, and you're probably wondering: What is that weird dateline doing on the AFC prediction column? Well, I came to Wisconsin over the weekend to take the temperature of Brett Favre and gauge his readiness for a 14th season in Green Bay, so it just happens to be where I am right now. Favre interlude: The Packers QB holds an annual benefit softball game in this little suburb of Appleton, Wis., a 30-minute drive from Lambeau Field. He does it here because this is where the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest...
